I Love You Because...

By Daimi

When I saw this pin (seen here and here) I knew immediately it was something I wanted to do for my husband, because he is definitely a words of affirmation guy. I recently helped organize an event for the Women's Ministry at my church and suggested that we do this as a craft. Not only is it something that we had a lot of fun with, but we spent time in fellowship with each other while we worked on them and encouraged one another in our marriages and to make sure we are letting our husbands and kids know that we appreciate and love them. For the women who are not married and/or do not have kids, we suggested an "I appreciate you because..." frame if they had a roommate or a scripture or to do list if they were single. Some of the teenagers came up with a "pray for..." frame.

This was a HUGE hit! Everyone loved it and we had some really creative frames. Unfortunately we did not get pictures of all of them, but here is a sampling of what people came up with.

We even had one in German!
Becky with her frame that matches her wedding colors!
Our friend Melissa with her scrabble inspired frame and Denisse with hers in Spanish.
What I really loved about this pin is that it really is as simple or as complex as you want to make it. You could write "I love you because" on a piece of notebook paper and put it in the frame and leave it at that. You could also spend hours decorating your paper and the frame to make it super fancy. All of these frames came from the Dollar Tree, so it is a very inexpensive gift to make as well.

The real test of approval came from my husband. He loved the frame and asked me to hang it on the wall. Later that night he had already written a note for me!

PS. All of the pictures were taken by our very own Denisse (well except for the one she is in - I took that one)! Make sure to check out her Facebook photography page
